My name is Deanne Elsner and I have been a therapist for almost 15 years, many of these with Alberta Health Services (AHS) in Mental Health and Addictions. I received a Masters of Social Work (MSW) with Clinical Specialization in 2005 from the University Of Calgary. I am a registered Social Worker with The Alberta College of Social Work (ACSW).
How can I help you? Often we go about our lives in a state of autopilot, which means we think the same thoughts and do the same things over and over without noticing that they are causing us problems. Some of these automatic thoughts/behaviours hold us back from living the best possible life. My job is to be a curious outsider and help you determine what is working and what is not and provide you with information, tools and strategies to get more out of life.
I work with adolescents and adults and specialize in the following areas:
I have training in a variety of therapeutic approaches and create a unique plan to meet your specific needs and goals. The approaches include: Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Dialectic Behavioural Therapy (DBT), Motivational Interviewing (MI), Emotionally Focused Couples Therapy (EFT), Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART), Systemic Family Therapy, Collaborative Problem Solving and many more.
